Vacation Safety Tips-Safety Tip Of The Week

click for more info

Many people are so happy to go on vacation that they forget some basic safety tips for their home before they go.

When your home is left empty it is the most vulnerable. And if you don’t think that burglars aren’t constantly looking for homes that are vulnerable you better think again.

So here are some tips that will help make sure that your belongings are where they’re supposed to be when you get back.

1. Make sure you stop your mail and newspapers so they don’t accumulate in your front yard or in your mailbox. A pile of papers in your front yard is a sure sign you’re gone.

2. Have someone mow your lawn and water your lawn and plants while you’re gone.

3. If you don’t have a timer for some of your indoor lights ask a neighbor to turn on lights every night for a few hours. The Programmable Timer will do it for you and randomly turn lights on and off.

4. And make sure you tell your neighbors that you will be gone and when you’ll be back. It doesn’t hurt to ask them to keep an eye on your house.

Home Security-Three Worst Obstacles Of The Home Burglar

Home burglary is as popular as ever. As a matter of fact it is one of the few areas of crime that has steadily shown an increase in the last couple of years. Many people think that is because of the economy. When the economy is bad people start doing desperate things, and home burglary is a crime of desperation for many.

Home burglary is a low risk crime because homeowners don’t pay that much attention to their own home security and home protection. If a burglar gets caught, the penalties are insignificant. So the bad guys think that it is worth the risk to steal things from people’s homes to put food on their table or buy drugs.

More people have alarms on their cars than have alarms for their homes. That’s pretty bad! Statistics show that one out of every six homes will be burglarized annually. Statistics also show that 90% of all home burglaries happen through unsecured windows and doors.

There are several things that people can do to improve their home security without spending a lot of money. The most obvious thing is to start locking their doors and windows even when they’re at home. Homeowners can start or join a neighborhood watch. They are a very effective tool adding increasing awareness of home security in a neighborhood. It is easy to start and it is free of charge. Check with your local police department or sheriff’s office for assistance in starting one.

There are three things that burglars don’t like. They are the three worst obstacles of a home burglar.

The first is TIME. The more time it takes a burglar to get into your house, the less likely he is to continue his pursuit of breaking in. The more time it takes him the greater the chance is that he will get caught. And he doesn’t want to get caught.

If he does get in, the second thing that he doesn’t like is NOISE. If you have a motion activated alarm, when he does get in and it goes off it will scare him away. So, consider getting a motion activated alarm.

The third thing that burglars don’t like and the third enemy of a burglar is LIGHT. Lights create shadows which make detection easier. Motion activated spotlights on the outside of the house, motion sensing lights on the inside of the house or lights that are on Programmable Random Timers can prevent a burglar from getting in or if he does get in can spook him and scare him away. They turn lights on at random times.

So time, lights and noise are the three biggest obstacles of the burglar. You can get home security devices cheaply. They can help you improve your home security and home protection and prevent home burglary. You don’t want to become a victim of a home burglary.

Home Security Lighting Will Improve Your Home Security

Is well-established fact that home burglaries are on the rise. Many reasons for this are possible but most people think that it is because of the economy. Consumer spending is down, which means people aren’t buying things. They’re afraid of the future. Unemployment is very high and it looks like it could continue at that level, if not worse. This leads to desperate people doing desperate things.

One of the best ways to improve your home security is with some home security lighting. And one of the most effective ways to do this is with the home spy floodlight DVR. It is a motion activated floodlight that has amazing capabilities.

The floodlight also has a DVR built-in. When the motion sensor is activated, the floodlight comes on and the DVR starts recording. Recordings are to an SD card. The product has a 180° range for motion activation and can see up to 10 meters away or 32.8 feet. The unit records in color and has a recording range with a 90° field of view.

The memory overwrite feature allows the DVR memory to never get full by erasing the oldest and recording the newest.

The unit also includes a microphone so you can hear what’s going on as well. It has two prerecorded audio alarms and two to user recorded alarms. All video is date time stamped. The unit comes with everything you need to mount it on a wall.

The Flood Light DVR can really improve your home security as well as light up your home.

Other home security lighting devices include timers that allow you to automatically turn on lights at certain times of day and night, night lights, which allow for easy navigation at night with minimal lighting and an LED ceiling wall light.

One of the most popular is the darkness activated light security system electronic eye sensor that screws into any light socket and instantly turns a lamp on or off depending on available ambient light.

Home security lighting is a very effective way to improve your home security. It is easy to use and very inexpensive and often overlooked as an option to improve home security.

When burglars see lights on inside a house they make the assumption that people are home. When they see lights going on an off inside a hall they know somebody is at home.
